Mapping in Ma

As i went through and look for and try researching about the maps in MA i found alot of interesting things. Alot were old maps of boston and the lay out before it became a city and showed the taxs maps and how things were laid out and i thought that was really cool. You got to see alot of old dated maps which kind of interest me because i like to look at the older maps to try and get a prespective of how things used to look and what it would have been like to live back in that time era. The most interesting map to me was an old map that i found on the internet that showed towns and parcles of land in MA. The reason that it was so intersting to me was because it had all of the surroudning towns around my home town but it didnt include my town in the outline, i thought this was interesting because my home town of Charlton land wise is i believe the second Biggest town land mass wise in MA so i thought this to be very intersting and im glad that i have found a map like this, i may decide to look into this a little more.

A planning perspective

The maps that i reviewed on this website were pretty interesting alot of 3D images were used. It does both walk through and fly overview of all communities and sites that were in the maps. It show realistic land uses and when you go through the walk through view when u travel across the land it shows the elevation or the depressions in the ground. Another great use for these tools is that it helps you plan out real life problems and you are able to use the technology to maybe make a possible route for emergencie servies, redirect rivers and be able to see what kind of impact that it would have on the enviroment and if it would be the right choice to make for that time. Im really impressed at the technology that is being used in this system and i think it has alot of cool features for alot of different people who may need it for different things such as community developers, the EPA, different companies to see enviroment impacts and i even think its cool that a person who would want to maybe build a house on a remote esque piece of land could see exatly where they would be and what land features are around them and the elevtaion they would be at and see how they like it before they build it.

social explorer

I really enjoyed this web page. The maps are very interesting in the way that you can see alot of different aspects of either the census or different population densitys and much more. I like the way you can zoom in on differnt areas on the map the different states and cities that are on the map and see how that area may differ from a neighboring states capitol city and compare the numbers and see how two areas so close could be so different. theres alot of maps on different races and different relgions and its pretty impressive to see the numbers and the population density in some of those maps in different areas on the U.S.

mapping music

The first thing that comes to mind when i think of mapping music is the different type of jazz music during the harlem renaissance of the 1920's. it was a very popular era in time for many jazz musicians with all the speak easies and the prohibition of that time. The music spoke for the people and how they were feeling about the time and the things that were happening, this almost gave you a sense as to where they have been where they came from, where they are and where they are headed almost like making a map of thier journey. The words that the musicians had used in thier words were found more powerful than anything else. It gave you a true sense of who they truly were, this can easily relate to a map because it maps show you where you are, where you need to go if you have a destination, how you should go about getting there and gives you a great sense of direction on how to get there and what routes to take.
